Chair's Message of Electrical Engineering

Our Department is committed to providing excellence in academic and educational experience in order to prepare graduates for successful career opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the surrounding Gulf region or for continuing advanced studies at the graduate level. We offer ABET accredited Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) with a concentration in either Communication Systems or Power Systems. Our top-quality curriculum meets international standards and provides both breadth and depth of knowledge for our graduates to meet future challenges and market demands.

We have some of the best laboratories in the region, well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, which are essential to the educational and teaching philosophy of the department. These laboratories are also instrumental in consolidating research, introducing cutting-edge technologies leading to industrial innovation, and meeting and exceeding current and future challenges to provide unique solutions to real-world problems.

The EE department at PMU is proud to host the National Instruments (NI) Graphical System Design Center of Excellence. This center is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It provides a stimulating and attractive environment for teaching, research and development in the areas of Measurements & Instrumentation, Controls & Robotics, Communications, Embedded and Signal Processing and Electronics.

Our outstanding Faculty are very supportive of students in their endeavors to acquire a solid groundwork of theoretical and technical knowledge, critical thinking and problem solving skills, teamwork and leadership, and practical experience. Our Faculty are also actively involved in research and collaboration with the industry. Research activities cover a wide spectrum of Electrical Engineering aspects, including signal processing, mobile and wireless communication, electrical power and energy systems, digital systems and power electronics.
