The Master of Science in Education with its 42 credit hours is designed to advance the development of the necessary skills and knowledge of its candidates and help them address and assess the challenges they face as educators in the 21st century.

Admissions Requirements


Educational Background

A completed baccalaureate degree (with GPA 2.50/4.00) from an accredited and/or recognized university provided that the applicant’s field of specialization is relevant to a Master of Science in Human Development Degree. Official transcripts of all college work at previous institutions must be provided.


Work Experience

Personal Data Sheet/Curriculum Vita: The Personal Data Sheet should include relevant biographical information and professional/educational experience.


English Language Proficiency Test

A valid IELTS certificate (Academic version) with minimum scores of 6.0 overall and 5.5 in each skill or equivalent TOEFL iBT.

Statement of Purpose

A Statement of Purpose (usually around 500 words) in which the applicant summarizes his/her professional goals, including professional objectives, research interests, his/her motivation for graduate work and other significant information


Letters of Reference

Applicants must submit at least two letters of recommendation, which attest to their professional competence, academic preparation, and potential for graduate work. The two letters should clearly reflect professional success and foresee academic success at the graduate level. Ideally, one letter should be from a college or university professor who can discuss the Applicant’s academic abilities and one should be from an administrator or colleague who can authoritatively describe the applicant’s professional experience and potential.


Personal Interview

Each candidate who otherwise meets the selection criteria will be personally interviewed by a committee of program administrators and faculty. The interview will provide an opportunity to see the candidate in a setting of personal interaction and thus can help to determine whether or not the candidate has the right skill set for the program.

    • Two recent passport-size photographs
    • Copy of Graduation’s Certificate certified by the Saudi Cultural Mission and Saudi Embassy
    • Copy of Transcript
    • Personal resume in English
    • Statement of motivation for the master degree (around 500 words)
    • Copy of National ID
    • Copy of passport
    • Two recommendation letters in English, written and signed by persons who are well acquainted with the applicant’s work and studies and are in the position to judge the candidate’s abilities to pursue a Master’s Degree

  3. Pay a non-refundable application fee of SAR 660 (excl. VAT) upon submission of documents
  4. Submit original IELTS (Academic version) certificate with minimum scores of 6.0 overall and 5.5 in each skill or equivalent TOEFL iBT.
  5. Other requirements might be requested by the admissions office
  6. Documents can be submitted online

Admission Process

  • After receiving and reviewing the above requirements, the admissions office will set an appointment for an interview
  • The final decision will be communicated through the Admissions office
  • PMU will support in issuing student visa.
