PMU’s International Admissions Office offers a range of different programs for international students. From choosing a program to applying to accept Admission Offer to issuing student visa to housing to start the study, PMU’s International Admissions Office staff will be there for you.

As an international student, you'll begin the application process just like all other applicants. The application process can be completed entirely online.


Admission Calendar


Freshman Students

Applicants who have completed their secondary school and seek direct entry to the undergraduate program, and wish to bypass the Preparatory Program, can apply to PMU for freshman admissions. However, they have to provide a PMU recognized proficiency English language test certificate with acceptable scores.


Admission Criteria

The applicant’s eligibility for direct admission into degree studies is based on the following:

  • Completed online application
  • Acceptable secondary school GPA *80% or equivalent
  • Acceptable SAT I
  • A valid IELTS certificate (Academic version) with Minimum scores of 6.0 overall and 5.5 in writing
  • Personal interview with the Admissions Office (ONLINE)

*Students with a lower percentage can apply, however, acceptance will depend on the overall results of the following criteria:


Non-Engineering Majors:

  • Secondary School 60%
  • SAT I 40%

Computer Science & Engineering Majors:

  • Secondary School 40%
  • SAT I 30%
  • SAT II 30%

How to Apply:

  1. Complete online application
  2. Submit documents before due date
    • Two recent passport-size photographs
    • Copy of secondary school certificate certified by the Saudi Cultural Mission and Saudi Embassy
    • Copy of SAT I
    • Copy of National ID
    • Copy of passport
  3. Pay a non-refundable application fee of SAR 950 (incl. VAT) upon submission of documents
  4. Submit original IELTS (Academic version) certificate with minimum scores of 6.0 overall and 5.5 in writing or equivalent TOEFL iBT (Learn more)

Admission Process

  • After receiving and reviewing the above requirements, the admissions office will set an appointment for an online interview.
  • The final decision will be communicated through the Admissions Office.
  • PMU will support in issuing student visa.

Transfer Students

Students coming from other universities, who wish to transfer their credits to PMU, may apply for transfer admissions. However, an applicant may be admitted to the Preparatory Program or directly to the degree program, based on the applicant’s English language proficiency. Transfer applicants should have a good academic standing from their previous recognized university with the minimum PMU required grades and cumulative GPA.


Admission Criteria

In order to be consider as a transfer candidate, the below criteria should be met in addition to the Admission requirements.

Eligibility:

  • Previous Institution is international university or can be a college/community college in a Western country (Associate Degree or above)
  • Previous type of study should be regular and not online or distance learning
  • Previous institution must be recognized by Saudi Ministry of Education (MOE)
  • The total GPA is 2.0 out of 4.0 from the previous institution
  • The applicant should not be dismissed from the previous institution
  • The applicant must meet the current PMU admission criteria
  • Applicants should have achieved the minimum required grades and cumulative GPA (for more information (click here)
  • Last course passed on the submitted transcript should not be older than 5 years

Admission Process

  • Upon acceptance, the transfer committee will review the credit transfer request (minimum 5 weeks)
  • The final decision will be communicated through the Admissions Office
  • PMU will support in issuing student visa.

Visitor Students

Visitor Students

Visiting students are students registered in other international recognized universities requesting to take courses at PMU that will count towards their degrees in their home institutions. To be able to register for a course as a visiting student, the applicant should meet the particular course requirements and pre-requisites, secure an approval from the home institution, and be approved by the college offering the course at PMU. All undergraduate courses at PMU are taught in English and the applicant should also meet English language requirements to be admitted as a visiting student. Visiting students are temporary members of the PMU community. They are expected to observe all academic and non-academic regulations. Visiting students may choose to transfer to PMU as resident students, in which case the transfer policy applies.

In order to be considered as a visiting candidate, the below criteria should be met.
Eligibility:

  • Meet the particular course requirements and pre-requisites
  • Meet the English Language proficiency level of the courses
  • Secure an official approval from the home institution
  • The Course(s) should be offered and available for visiting students for the applied semester
  • The visiting request should be approved by the college offering the course at PMU
