Consistent with the PMU mission with its focus on the advancement of academic and human development and lifelong learning, the Master of Science in Education and Human Development with its seven concentrations empowers current and future educators and professionals with the required funds of knowledge, critical thinking, analytical skills, research-based problem techniques and life-contextualized educational activities that allow them to advance on both the academic and personal level.


The program exposes our students to interactive learning experiences that embody the core values of the institution and respond to the challenges of globalization. We believe that we have an ethical and social commitment to provide our graduate students with the knowledge and employability skills that raise their competency level in such a way that meets the required needs of a competitive business market.


Our Master of Education program empowers the current and future workforce of the kingdom with job-related soft and academic skills that enable them to effectively apply their discipline-specific knowledge and add value to the Saudi globalized knowledge- based economy. In this domain, the education we provide through the our Master of Science in Education and Human Development is in alignment with the national and international standards and competencies set by the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, (NCAAA), the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).


Our program provides prospective candidates with invaluable insights into research-based human resource development training trends and best practices that allow them to meetthe needs of the labor market and the expectations of their employers. One of the main guiding principles and driving forces of our graduate program relates to an exploration and understanding of the labor market of the Kingdom which is globally-oriented and requires a highly skilled and competent workforce as it depends on a knowledge-based economy.


Our distinguished program also endorses a teaching-learning paradigm that informs our students of what, how, and why we teach the way we do, and whether our teaching approach satisfies the learning demands of the 21st. century millennial. Teaching-learning paradigm centralizes web-based instruction, learner-centered pedagogy, learning by doing, inquiry-based learning, collaborative and cooperative learning, integration of global employability skills, and the purposeful documentation of students’ academic, social and professional activities through electronic portfolios.
