Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) located near the beautiful half-moon bay of Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Our department has experienced significant change and growth since the year of inauguration in 2006. Civil Engineering at PMU is part of College of Engineering that strives for excellence in teaching and learning, research and scholarship, and community service. Our mission is to prepare our graduates to apply basic and advanced engineering knowledge and skills to the design, analysis and research of engineering systems; to prepare them to compete successfully in today's job market and for life-long learning. At our department, students are not only taught to develop a high skill of the application of science and mathematics, but also management, and communication skills as well. Also, our department offers unique learning experience combining scientific and social skills as well as computer (IT) oriented studies that are all needed for students to succeed in the professional engineering practices. Our curriculum is developed based on the engineering education system practiced in the United States. Currently, we are making a good progress toward getting accreditation from Saudi’s National Committee on Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) as well as US-based Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
