A Message From The Acting Chair

Welcome to the Department of Architecture at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University. Message from Acting Chair

The PMU Department of Architecture and its faculty will provide education for future leaders and innovators in the architecture profession, create new knowledge about the built environment, provide resources for lifelong learning, and serve the KSA by increasing the quality of the environment of communities. The department and faculty are committed to excellence in educating future leaders and professionals that are equipped with the most current knowledge and abilities.

Expanding populations, rapid urbanization, and increasing wealth within Saudi Arabia have led to a booming architectural and construction industry. In the past, much of the design and construction has been performed by overseas firms. The current trend and ambition is to expand participation and leadership in architecture, design, and construction among KSA nationals. The PMU architecture program will provide opportunities primarily for KSA citizens to gain knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentials that enable them to participate fully in the building industry both in the KSA and globally.

The Architecture Program is committed to providing excellence in education to male and female students through awarding a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Architecture. The architecture program at PMU will offer a Bachelor of Architecture degree using a five-year curriculum to comply with requirements of the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). Although the degree is designed for graduates to enter the practice of Architecture in Saudi Arabia, alumni from this program are also well prepared to further their studies in graduate schools within Saudi Arabia and abroad.

The faculties of the Architecture Department are committed to the educational success of the students who enter the program. Each faculty member offers their own expertise in the areas of theoretical and technical knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, teamwork, leadership and practical experience. Since all courses are taught in English, each faculty member is proficient in the English language.

We are excited to offer this program with its extensive career opportunities for male and female students. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further information
