Curriculum Vitae of Dr. Issa Bin Hassan AlAnsari
A Saudi academic interested in the field education at large and in all related modern theories taking into account the effects of globalization. Dr. AlAnsari is highly involved in the development of societies and especially the development of youth and finding ways to empowering them. He works on finding creative solutions to the problems that hinder youth development, and oversees training and curriculum development in the age of globalization.

Professional Record

  1. President of Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University, 2004 – Present

    • Supervised the implementation of the idea of the university since its inception
    • Participated in the oversight of preparation of the campus architectural and engineering designs as well as overseeing the design of the academic, research, administrative and technical systems of the University with the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC), a consortium of 32 US universities, that partnered for the founding of Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University until it became a successful academic institution for over 5000 local and international students.
    • Worked to attract the capital of the establishment of the University of approximately 500 million Saudi Riyals and within 10 years managed to establish a university endowment of more than 500 million Saudi Riyals.
  2. Dean of the College of Technology in Dammam, 1995 – 2003

    • Worked with a high level team on the establishment of the College, the development of its system and regulations, the design of the curricula and providing the campus and its labs with the necessary equipment. With this holistic experience, he also participated in the development of other technical colleges curricula throughout the Kingdom.
    • Served as a Member of the Scientific Council of the Technical Colleges, became Member of the Council of Technical Colleges, and Member of the Technical Colleges Curriculum Development Committee in the Kingdom.
    • Supervised the linking of the College with the surrounding community through the establishment of the Applied Research and Community Service Center, thus making it the first technical college in the Kingdom to be directly involved and engaged to serve the community.
  3. Secretary of the Committee of Deans and Directors of Colleges in the Arab Gulf States, 1996 – 2002

    • Founding member of the team, became Secretary of the Committee at the headquarters within the Technical College in Dammam.
    • Worked on the preparation of the technical education strategy in the Arab Gulf states, which was presented at the conference held by the University of Bahrain in 2002.
  4. General Supervisor of Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Program for Youth Development (PMFHD), 2000 – Present

    • Established the Program and set its various implementation plans and financing strategies, where he raised nearly 100 million Saudi Riyals, and established endowments.
    • Raised over 50 million Saudi Riyals to build the headquarters of the Program and it is now the headquarters of Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Foundation for Humanitarian Development in Dammam equipped with the latest technologies.
    • Designed all scientific, administrative, training and employment systems for the PMFHD in Arabic and English, and supervised the preparation of training modules.
    • Among the most notable achievements was the placement of 47,225 young men and women during the 12 years through training.
    • Implemented plans to train 43,000 young men and women during the summer vacation.
    • PMFHD was awarded the Dubai International Best Practices Award, organized by the Government of Dubai in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in 2004, and the 2007 Sharjah Volunteer Award.
  5. Special Advisor to HRH Governor of the Eastern Province 2002 – 2012

    • Worked on field studies and research papers related to social development projects and initiatives, including those related to youth issues and the development of intellectual awareness. Also contributed to the fulfillment and implementation of the recommendations of those studies and the findings of the research projects until they became solid projects. The approach worked efficiently and showed proven positive results.

  7. Secretary of Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Award for Distinguished Government Performance 2002 – 2012

    • Worked on establishing the Award and developing its charter, criteria, policies and guidelines. Through its six-year term, the Award actively contributed in raising performance standards and enriching competition between the Government Institutions.
  8. Secretary of the Social Rehabilitation Committee in the Eastern Region 2003 - 2012

    • This idea stemmed from a study prepared by Dr. Al-Ansari, which aimed at rehabilitating ex-prisoners for life and social integration. Dr. AlAnsari worked on developing the related plans at the national level. Ten laboratories were set up in various Saudi prisons where 1,735 prisoners were trained.
  9. Secretary of the Coordinating Committee for Community Development 2005 - 2012

    • Established a committee that aimed at coordinating activities in the Eastern Province, and worked on developing regulations and execution plans and supervised their implementation in the community.
  10. Secretary General of the Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Foundation for Humanitarian Development (PMFHD) 2000 – Present

    • Serves as head of the Foundation, which launched over 20 initiatives and dozens of projects, most notably:
      • The Project of Improvement of Housing for Needy Families
      • The Shifa Fund, supporting medical treatment for disadvantaged patients
      • The Full Care Program for Poor Families, a holistic support program for the most disadvantaged families

International Programs and Projects

  • Dr. AL Ansari worked on establishing and implementing the following projects and programs:
    • The Prince Sultan College for Visually Impaired (PSCVI)

      The academic system has been finalized in cooperation with the Royal National College for Blind (RNCB) in Hereford- UK, and all engineering designs have been completed. Construction will begin soon.
    • The Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Program for Strategic Research Studies

      This Program was launched in cooperation with the University of Central Florida in the US; it aims at enhancing the academic partnerships between the Kingdom and US. The program has several achievements, including round tables, workshops and lectures, book translation and academic reports.
    • The Merit Scholarship Program for Arab Students

      Dr. AlAnsari supervised the implementation of this idea in cooperation between Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University and the Arab Youth Council of the Arab League, and currently over 30 high-achieving Arab students are studying at the university, on full scholarships.
    • The King Fahd Bin Abdul-Aziz Program for Dispute Resolution

      The Program was launched in cooperation with Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. The Program aims at promoting negotiations, conflict and dispute resolution in general and to benefit international practices involving students from both countries in training on mediation work. A 3-year work plan has been developed and multiple joint events have been carried out in the US and in KSA.
    • The PMU Medical School and Teaching Hospital

      Affiliated to Prince Muhammad bin Fahd University, this project is currently underway with the academic advisor in the USA being “Huron Consulting” to prepare the academic, administrative, financial and other college systems. An Italian partner was also selected to establish and operate the PMU Teaching Hospital.
