IELTS Preparation Course, (for RECENT HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course empowers students with examination techniques necessary for the IELTS test, and practice sessions on writing, listening, reading and speaking. This will be delivered through daily sessions of two hours over a period of two weeks. An important element of this module is the completion of non-assessed homework and the feedback/follow-up in class when students are made aware of areas of and weakness. At least one hour of homework is given every day focusing on developing the student’s academic writing skills. Students are expected to take part in class/small-group/one-to-one interchanges, and informal feedback is given by the trainer.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Develop their English language skills in an academic context
  • Acquire the examination techniques necessary for the IELTS test, so they can improve their IELTS score
  • Increase confidence in using English in academic and everyday contexts

TARGETED AUDIENCE:

  • This course is for high school students (Intermediate to Advanced English speakers) wishing to obtain an IELTS course for university admission. This course is also for anyone wishing to obtain employment.

COURSE DURATION:    

  • 3 weeks, 10 hours a week (30 hours)
  • 4:00PM to 6:00pm
  • From July 14, 2019 to August 02, 2019

COURSE LOCATION:

  • PMFHD Building, Dammam, Opposite Al-Othaim Mall

Steps for Implementation:

  • The applicant will register through the following link:

  • The applicant will be called for a placement test at PMFHD, Dammam
  • If the score in placement test is Intermediate to Advance Level, the student will go through the IELTS Preparation Course. The student will pay 1,000 SAR upon admission (refundable upon successful completion of the course and the IELTS test).
  • If the student successfully completes the course, IELTS test will be arranged for him / her free of charge

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

  • Recent High School graduate from academic year 2018/2019 or 2017/2018.
  • Should score in the Intermediate level or higher in the English placement test.
  • Pay 1,000 SAR upon admission (refundable upon successful completion of the course and the IELTS test).
  • Must abide by PMU academic and attendance policy.
